Chef Debasis Das (often referred to as Professor Debasis Das) is a prominent hospitality trainer, culinary expert, and former faculty member at the prestigious Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Taratala, Kolkata. Known for his extensive contributions to hospitality education and training in West Bengal, his career bridges the gap between high-end industry practice and academic mentorship.

Chef Das holds a comprehensive background in business, hospitality, and management pursued Bachelor Of Science ( CU), Diploma in Hotel management from IHM-Taratala, Post Diploma from IHM-Mumbai, Master in HR, MBA (Personnel), Master in Marketing Management.

Career & Contributions towards the industry: -

He began his hospitality career gathering robust industry experience with luxury hotel chains, Transitioning into academia, he spent over 46 years in the Hotels and Hospitality Institute. Presently doing Advisory work ( Freelance) for the Hotels, Hospitality Educator and HR advisor for the Corporate houses.He served as an influential faculty member at IHM Kolkata, where he was formally recognized for his dedication alongside other veteran educators who shaped the institution's legacy.

Writing & Research: Passionate about upgrading culinary education, he actively works on academic resources and has been involved in documenting Culinary Theory to solve the shortage of advanced textbook material for hotel management students. He also researches historical regional food systems, focusing on reviving forgotten flavors of Bengali cuisine.
